GMA Accessories Inc. dba Capelli New York, and other divisions of Sondra Roberts, and Ballet Group, is a major U.S. manufacturer and distributor of apparel, footwear, novelty and gift products, jewelry, hosiery, fashion accessories, handbags, PPE, fitness gear and sports/athletic apparel for women, men, and kids; with our new Licensing divisions, Ellen Tracy and Caribbean Joe most recently added to our portfolio. What We Are Looking For:
New York City Fashion based Apparel & Accessories company seeking Product Development Assistant for multiple accessories divisions.
We are a team of enthusiastic professionals that contribute to leading top national brands and retailers. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with team members and Graphic Designers, and see all stages from design to development to production. The ideal candidate will be serious about having a career, not just a job.
Responsibilities:
- Have a pulse on trend and social media platforms.
- Sample coordinator: track and prepare samples to insure deadlines are met; troubleshoot any sample delays; organize and file samples
- Contribute to initial brainstorm collaborations where we talk about bringing product to life through color, material, silhouette.
- Communicate daily with overseas factories and vendors on development status and costing to ensure we are on track with line plan goals and Time & Action deadlines
- Create tech packs
- Ability to compile comprehensive retail comp shop reports. Search competitive retailers & market to get a gauge on trends, retails and new ideas on designs.
- Attend meetings with design, development and sales teams to review strategy
- Merchandise showroom and have inventory up-to-date in showroom
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising or related degree preferred.
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Strong communication skills
- Skills in CAD + Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator is a plus
