Overview:
Responsibilities:
- support senior members of the design team in development of seasonal designs (ex. gather inspiration, references, execute mock-ups, muslins, digital CADs and diagrams)
- support maintaining seasonal development calendar by executing assigned design and development projects in a timely manner
- assist with maintaining design development charts up to date (create style numbers and update style images if necessary)
- prepare initial development packages (tech packs, sew-bys, references, supporting trims) and participate in all communication and follow-up with factories and vendors
- manage development and hand-off of artwork/graphic files to the factories
- gather all necessary materials and communicate with the pattern making team for a timely and accurate drop off for midtown development
- communicate design/ construction and fit requirements to midtown factories
- communicate factories’ feedback on construction and pattern back to the design and pattern making team for corrections
- keep track of the list of styles and corrections developed locally and check against the invoice received from the factories
- update tech packs and relevant departments with any changes applied throughout the development process
- collect all development receipts and submit them in a timely and accurate manner to assist with maintaining of seasonal budgets
- prepare and send out all the development packages
- participate in development and production fittings, update tech packs and all relevant departments with any changes applied during fittings
- communicate to the factories any feedback about print and wash quality to be applied for production
- assist with lookbook shoots preparation (setup, final alterations, gathering styling supplies, etc.) and on set tasks
- provide style descriptions upon completion of each season to pass to the marketing team
- support maintaining design reference library in order (return design references passed to the factories back to the design closet, maintain check-in/check-out of sample to and from bergen and TOP archives, participate in seasonal cleanups of the design reference library)
Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a cut and sew apparel designer.
- Degree in Fashion Design or Product Development preferred.
- VERY Adept at Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and InDesign.
- Knowledge or Strong interest in Denim design & wash is a plus.
- Able to proactively execute designated tasks independently, with a high level of comfort asking for help when needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; detail-oriented, strong multitasking and organization skills.
- Creative, Organized, and Detailed oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The expected starting pay range for this position is $66,000 - $70,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
