A kitchen and bath salesperson is responsible for assisting clients in selecting and designing cabinetry, fixtures, and finishes for both their kitchens and bathrooms, culminating in successful sales. They act as a central point of contact, navigating the client through product selection, design, and potentially, project coordination with installers and manufacturers. Key responsibilities
CLIENT INTERACTION AND NEEDS ASSESSMENT :
- Greeting and engaging customers in the showroom, at job sites, or through virtual appointments.
- Understanding client needs, preferences, lifestyles, and budgets for both kitchen, bath other spaces.
- Providing product recommendations and guiding clients through the selection of cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, finishes, and other elements for both kitchens and bathrooms.
- Addressing inquiries and providing timely feedback regarding orders and concerns.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of cabinet products, including styles, features, customization options, and pricing.
DESIGN AND QUOTING:
- Developing design layouts and proposals, potentially using design software like 2020 Design, AutoCAD, or similar programs for kitchens and bathrooms.
- Generating accurate quotes and proposals detailing pricing, specifications, and timelines for both kitchen and bath projects.
- Assisting builders and designers with pricing and bidding projects that involve kitchen and bath renovations or new construction.
SALES AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
- Actively seeking out and engaging potential customers for kitchen and bath projects.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry professionals like contractors, architects, and builders.
- Following up on leads and converting them into sales.
- Negotiating prices and finalizing sales agreements for kitchen and bath purchases.
- Meeting and exceeding established sales targets and goals.
PROJECT COORDINATION AND ADMINISTRATION:
- Estimating, ordering, and scheduling kitchen and bath projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
- Coordinating installation with contractors and ensuring customer satisfaction with the final product.
- Maintaining accurate records of sales, vendor expenditures, and client interactions.
- Keeping the showroom organized, clean, and stocked with samples and brochures for both kitchen and bath displays.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, materials, products, and design innovations in both the kitchen and bath sectors
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in kitchen design software (e.g., Design 2020).
- Ability to create accurate designs and detailed plans.
- Knowledge of cabinet materials, styles, and construction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Perform daily follow-up with the existing customer and complete 100% of your to-do list for the day
COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of basic sales principle's rapport building, negotiations, offers, overcoming objections, and closing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or higher preferred
- At least 2-5 years of work experience in a sales-specific role with a long cycle transaction, and organizational development.
- Remodeling/ Construction experience is a plus.
- Comfortable with consistent follow-up and ability to get creative when reaching out to clients (i.e. video messages, gifts…etc)
- Knowledgeable of the Product and Pricing guide and stay up to date with any changes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
