Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in New York, NY. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Credit Analyst, you will support the management of investment grade credit portfolios by conducting issuer-level research, credit assessments, and market analysis. Working closely with portfolio managers and other analysts, you will help shape investment strategy and contribute to portfolio construction across a global corporate bond universe. You will report to the Head of US Credit, based in New York.
We will count on you to:
• Perform fundamental credit analysis on corporate issuers across sectors and geographies. You will have clear ownership of defined sectors and will "own" the recommendations to the DIU Credit Committee and the performance of these issuers in the underlying portfolios.
• You'll be expected to deliver high-quality analysis, collaborate across locations and teams, and contribute to the ongoing development of our investment process.
• Assess relative value and risk-return characteristics of specific bonds within the investment grade universe.
• Monitor macroeconomic, industry, and geopolitical trends to inform investment decisions.
• Present research findings and investment ideas to portfolio managers and senior colleagues.
What you need to have:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in credit research, preferably focused on investment grade corporate bonds.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; proficiency in Excel and Bloomberg required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
What makes you stand out?
• Experience with Python and Power BI is a plus.
• Progress toward CFA designation preferred.
• Candidates will ideally have buy side experience with an asset manager or a ratings agency.
Why join our team:
• We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
• We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients and communities.
• Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
