The TRG Manufacturing Search Division seeks an Applications Engineer to join a well-established and growing North American market leader providing engineered power transformer products and services to the electric utility industry. The organization continues to expand its capabilities across the design and development of transformer products, field service, repair, and refurbishment, supporting utilities, electrical cooperatives, municipal power organizations, and transformer OEMs.
You will combine applications engineering, technical problem solving, and customer/field support to evaluate transformer applications and develop engineered solutions for new and existing power transformers. You will also support retrofit projects, field inspections, testing, repairs, commissioning, and other customer-driven technical needs.
We are looking for someone with power transformer experience from an OEM, utility, co-op, municipality, or transformer service organization. Mechanical or electrical engineering backgrounds can work. This role offers broad technical exposure, customer interaction, career growth, and potential remote flexibility for the right person.
Background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline preferred
- Experience working with power transformers
- Background with a transformer OEM, utility, electrical cooperative, municipal power organization, or transformer service company
- Experience in transformer design, applications engineering, field service, or related utility engineering
- Knowledge of power transformer applications, loading, thermal performance, or related electromechanical systems
- Strong technical communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability and willingness to travel
