FREEZER ENGINEERING, LLC Modular Skid-Based Process Systems · Industrial Power Distribution · Instrumentation & Controls · Medium Voltage Electrical HMI / SCADA Developer Englewood, Colorado or Houston, Texas | Full-Time | Instrumentation & Controls Group About the Role Freezer Engineering designs and delivers process and electrical systems for oil, gas, and chemical clients. We are looking for an HMI/SCADA developer who builds operator screens for a living — someone who can take a P&ID, an I/O list, and a control narrative and turn them into clean, consistent, operator-friendly graphics that hold up in the field. This is a hands-on screen development and configuration role. You will work directly with our controls engineers and with client operations staff on gas plants, compressor stations, water treatment facilities, and modular skid packages. Expect a mix of new development, migrations, and field commissioning support. What You'll Do Develop HMI and SCADA screens in Ignition and Rockwell FactoryTalk View (SE/ME) — overviews, process graphics, faceplates, trends, alarm summaries, and reports. Build and maintain tag databases, UDTs, templates, and reusable graphic libraries so screens stay consistent across projects. Configure alarms, historians, and trending; set up alarm priorities and shelving in line with client alarm management practices. Integrate with PLCs (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, Modbus, OPC UA) and verify I/O mapping against control narratives and loop drawings. Support FAT, SAT, and startup — test screens against the process, capture punch items, and make corrections on site. Produce and update supporting documentation: screen indexes, tag lists, and as-built configuration records. Work with clients on screen layout reviews and incorporate operator feedback. What You Bring 2–5 years of hands-on HMI/SCADA screen development experience. Working proficiency in Ignition (Perspective and/or Vision) and Rockwell FactoryTalk View. Practical understanding of industrial process systems — you can read a P&ID and a control narrative and know what an operator needs to see. Experience with PLC communications and tag integration (Allen-Bradley, Modbus, OPC). Attention to detail on naming conventions, templating, and version control — your work should be maintainable by the next person. Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable talking to operators and clients. Willingness to travel to client sites for commissioning and startup support (occasional, project-driven). Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Nice to Have Ignition certification (Core or Gold) or Rockwell training credentials. Experience with AVEVA/Wonderware InTouch, Siemens WinCC, or legacy system migrations. SQL database experience for historian and reporting work. Scripting in Python (Jython) or VBA within an HMI environment. Oil, gas, chemical, or water treatment facility experience. Exposure to cybersecurity practices for control networks (IEC 62443 awareness).
