Hello Bargello is a women-owned and operated e-commerce brand specializing in modern needlepoint kits + DIY subscription boxes. Our mission is to reinvent traditional fiber crafts for modern makers — spreading colorful maximalism, the joy of handmade hobbies, and a love of retro flair.
We’re looking for a Textile/Needlepoint Design & Studio Assistant to join our small, female-led team. This is a very unique hands-on role which combines design and stitching responsibilities with e-commerce studio assistant responsibilities.
On the design side: Your primary role will involve working directly with our founder and head designer to assist in developing new needlepoint designs. You’ll provide support throughout the full design life cycle from concept to production, including physically stitching swatches and samples during the design process. This is a rare opportunity that’s like a master class in creative design and product development. Applicants MUST have strong proficiency in at least one type of needle craft (needlepoint or knitting/embroidery/sewing/etc) OR degree in textile design.
On the studio assistant side: You’ll assist with order fulfillment, ensuring our customer orders are beautifully packed and shipped on time, while also helping to manage and organize inventory. It’s a chance to grow your practical skills, get behind-the-scenes experience in a fast-growing lifestyle brand, and work in a fun, creative studio environment.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with development of new needlepoint kits, including monitoring current trends, pitching ideas, stitching samples, selecting colors, and producing instructional content
- Monitor industry trends and curate seasonal trend stories and color palettes
- Support technical pattern team and take technical photos for our patterns
- Opportunity to create social media videos related to our design process or instructions.
- Maintain and organize design production schedule; support design team to ensure deadlines and key calendar dates are met
- Collaborate with team members to source correct materials for new designs and kits
- Assist with packing and shipping daily e-commerce orders with accuracy and care (a.k.a. sending colorful happy mail!)
- Assemble craft kits and subscription boxes — bonus points if you love an efficient assembly line
- Receive, unpack, and organize incoming shipments
- Help keep the studio running smoothly and beautifully
- Assist with additional creative projects as opportunities arise, including social media tasks, photo shoots, and product development research
- Bonus but not required: experience in video editing or website maintenance (Shopify)
- Work independently with your favorite playlist or podcast (earbuds encouraged!)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design, Fine Arts or related
- Strong proficiency in at least one type of needle or fiber craft, with experience using consumer instructions for such craft (ie, following knitting or sewing patterns)
- Technically-minded with the ability to plan and visualize complex 3-D designs
- Strong understanding of color theory, print/pattern design, and material selection
- Aspirational taste level and ability to translate current trends to our niche
- Extremely high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Shopify, and CapCut
- Highly organized with strong time management skills
- Creative, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Reliable, professional, and excited to learn
- Enthusiastic about crafts, design, textiles, and creative small business
- Finds joy in precision (lining things up, checking things off, getting the facts just right)
- Ability to work on your feet for extended time periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
