Since 1978, Corazón has connected volunteers, donors, and supporters across the U.S. with over 500 families across Tijuana and Tecate, Mexico, to build over 1,800 homes, develop six communities, and expand access to education to over 700 children.

Development Manager (Part-Time)

Corazón is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Development Manager to grow our base of donors, volunteers, and corporate and organizational sponsors. This is a part-time role for someone who thrives on building genuine connections, telling a compelling mission story, and translating relationships into fundraising support.

Role & Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment

Recruit new volunteers for community builds, programs, and events.
Build relationships with schools, churches, organizations, and corporations interested in group volunteer opportunities and team building experiences.

Sponsorships & Corporate Partnerships

Identify and pursue new corporate and organizational sponsors.
Prepare sponsorship materials, proposals, and presentations.
Represent Corazón at community events, service club meetings, and presentations across San Diego and Southern California.

Donor Development

Manage and grow Corazón's existing list of individual donors, history and statistics;
Identify, cultivate, and steward individual donors, working to grow both one-time gifts and recurring giving from our current supporter base.
Analyze donor data and giving trends to prioritize outreach and identify upgrade/reactivation opportunities.
Support donor communications, including outreach and thank-you correspondence.

General

Track progress toward fundraising and volunteer recruitment goals.
Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategy for donor, volunteer, and sponsor growth.
Travel periodically to Corazón's community centers in Tijuana and Tecate to strengthen program knowledge.

Skills & Experience

This is a donor relations and development role, not a grant writing position. Must have experience with fundraising, sales, business development, community outreach, or a related relationship-based field.
Natural communicator (comfortable speaking to Rotary Clubs and corporate sponsors).
Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license/passport (or ability to obtain one) for border crossings.

Job Details

Schedule: Part-time, some evenings/weekends required for events and presentations.
Compensation: $34.60/hour or $45,000/year (25 hours/week)
Location: Hybrid work from home and in our Santa Ana office, with some travel around the Southern California region and Baja California, Mexico.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
