Process Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Process Engineer to support the development of equipment solutions from the initial proposal stage through project execution. This role is responsible for developing preliminary equipment designs, preparing accurate cost estimates, and creating comprehensive technical and commercial proposals based on customer specifications and process requirements.
The Process Engineer will serve as a key technical resource for both customers and internal teams, providing timely technical support, answering questions, and clarifying requirements throughout the proposal and project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop preliminary equipment designs and process solutions based on customer specifications and process requirements.
- Prepare accurate equipment cost estimates and detailed technical and commercial proposals.
- Review customer specifications, process requirements, and applicable industry standards to ensure proposed solutions meet project needs.
- Provide timely technical support and clarification to customers throughout the proposal and project lifecycle.
- Ensure proposals and related submissions are completed accurately and within management-established deadlines.
- Review incoming purchase orders for accuracy, scope, specifications, and alignment with the original proposal.
- Support Project Design Engineers throughout the design and fabrication process.
- Verify that equipment designs and fabrication meet customer specifications, applicable industry codes, and internal company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, sales, and other internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Identify and communicate potential technical, cost, or scope issues that may affect proposals or projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized technical and commercial documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
EXPERIENCE:
· Knowledge of process or heat transfer equipment such as vaporizers, electric heaters, impedance heaters, scraped surface exchangers and estimating practices and methods is strongly preferred.
· 5 years of experience in design and specification of heat transfer chemical processes and equipment is preferred but not essential.
· Professional engineer (PE) license is a plus.
· Experience using HTRI design software for shell-and-tube heat exchangers is a plus.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITES:
· Must be organized and detail oriented
· Must have excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
· Must have problem solving skills
· Must have computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite
· Knowledge of Visual Basic is a plus
· Familiarity with Chlorine handling procedures related to the Chlorine Institute and/or Eurochlor is a plus
· Knowledge of Electrical and Fire codes such as NEC or ATEX is a plus
Pay: $82,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
