We’re looking for a hands-on financial Controller who loves numbers – and even more, loves discovering the story behind them. A core team member that can move from Board-level insights to answering a patient billing question without missing a beat.

Real Diagnostics is a growing healthcare diagnostics company built around a simple idea: Humanizing Healthcare—one patient at a time. We combine complex molecular diagnostic expertise, technology, innovation, responsiveness, and genuine human connection to help healthcare providers deliver better care for patients.
We are scaling, both organically and through acquisition—and looking for a Controller who is excited by a dynamic, evolving environment and wants to help build what comes next. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the CEO, with meaningful exposure to executive leadership, the Board, private equity partners, lenders, and outside advisors.
This role sits at the intersection of accounting, healthcare, data, technology, operations, and strategy. We need someone who can close the books, help build a Board presentation, dissect an RCM report, and ask the questions that uncover what is really happening in the business. We have been utilizing a fractional Controller but believe the role is better suited for full-time team member who believes in the mission.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- Take over responsibility for general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, and the monthly/quarterly/annual close.
- Prepare GAAP-compliant monthly financial reporting for leadership, the Board, PE partners, and lenders.
- Maintain strong internal controls; Be primary coordinator with 3rd party CPA auditor for year-end audit and coordinate tax activities.
- Maintain and expand financial forecasts, cash-flow models, budgets, KPIs, dashboards, and meaningful variance analysis.
- Partner with operational leaders and present your creative ideas to improve profitability, efficiency, and decision-making.
TURN DATA INTO DECISIONS
This is where the role gets especially interesting. Real Diagnostics is a data-rich healthcare organization, and we want to become significantly better at using that data to make smarter decisions.
- Use advanced Excel and BI tools to turn large datasets into clear, actionable insights.
- Develop dashboards and reporting that reveal trends across revenue, reimbursement, collections, expenses, and profitability.
- Investigate anomalies and inconsistencies rather than simply reporting them.
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc., to accelerate analysis, research, reporting, and workflow automation.
- Explore opportunities to automate recurring reporting and make financial intelligence faster and more useful.
BECOME OUR RCM DATA DETECTIVE
Our revenue is largely generated from 3rd party insurance reimbursements, including Medicare. We partner with a third-party Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) organization—and we want a financial leader who can independently understand, monitor, and challenge the data.
- Analyze billing, claims, payment, denial, aging, reimbursement, and collection trends.
- Create tools and dashboards to evaluate RCM performance and identify revenue leakage.
- Establish meaningful KPIs and benchmarks for our RCM partner.
- Identify billing problems, payment delays, coding opportunities, and reimbursement issues.
- Build analytical models that improve collections, cash flow, and revenue optimization.
- Walk into an RCM meeting prepared to ask: “I see the numbers. Now explain what is driving this trend.”

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years progressive accounting/financial leadership experience
- Controller, Assistant Controller, VP Finance, or comparable senior-level experience
- Strong GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow skills
- Expert with QuickBooks Online
- Advanced Excel and other financial-systems expertise
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Healthcare services experience
PREFERRED
- CPA designation
- Private equity-backed experience
- Healthcare reimbursement or RCM experience
- Experience managing third-party RCM vendors
- Power BI or other BI/data visualization tools
- ERP implementation or systems optimization
- Experience using AI for analysis or automation
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Bill.com, Zoho, et al.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
