SUMMARY
Audits the work activities of production process to verify conformance of activities to engineering and quality assurance requirements by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

- Audits the machine operators' inspection of the plastic products produced to determine; uniformity of color, surface defects, orientation and dimensional accuracy in compliance with Quality and Engineering requirements.
- Performs qualitative tests such as; melt flow, density determination and orientation to verify process conditions, material type and quality.
- Performs tests, calibrations, and inspects incoming material as needed.
- Provides test results to various departments upon request (i.e. Production, Material Handling, Purchasing, Engineering, etc.)
- Calibrates and repairs mechanical testing and measuring equipment using hand tools, maintenance manuals and work instructions.
- Observes and asks workers questions pertaining to job functions.
- Reviews processing information such as worker logs, product processing sheets and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
- Observes equipment usage to verify that the equipment is being operated and maintained as required.
- Inspects incoming materials as outlined by departmental procedures to ensure conformance to established specifications.
- Writes and submits audit reports to supervisory personnel
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) Mechanical Inspector (CMI) or Quality Technician (CQT) is desired.
