Lead the Financial Strategy Behind Manufacturing Growth
Commercial Plastics is a leading plastic injection molding manufacturer committed to delivering quality, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a hands-on, business-minded Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations while serving as a key partner in pricing, quoting, profitability analysis, and strategic decision-making.
This is more than a traditional accounting role. The Controller will have a direct impact on business growth, customer profitability, operational performance, and executive decision-making. You'll work closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Business Development to ensure every quote, pricing decision, and financial recommendation supports long-term profitability and success.

What You'll Do
Financial Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, and General Accounting functions.
- Establish accountability, performance expectations, and professional development plans for the accounting team.
- Drive process improvements, cross-training initiatives, and automation opportunities.
- Serve as the primary financial resource for operational and departmental leaders.
Quoting, Pricing & Profitability Analysis
- Own the company's financial quoting and customer pricing processes.
- Develop and maintain customer-specific pricing models and profitability analyses.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Business Development, and Supply Chain to ensure quotes reflect accurate cost assumptions and profitability targets.
- Evaluate customer margins, identify pricing risks, and recommend price adjustments when required.
- Support customer pricing discussions and commercial negotiations.
Manufacturing Cost Accounting
- Lead cost accounting activities and maintain accurate ERP costing information.
- Analyze labor, material usage, cycle times, scrap, overhead, inventory, and manufacturing variances.
- Develop reporting that connects quoting assumptions to actual operating performance and realized profitability.
- Support inventory controls, physical inventories, and cycle-count programs.
Financial Reporting & Business Analysis
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and business analyses.
- Analyze results against budgets, forecasts, and historical performance.
- Provide actionable recommendations to leadership on financial and operational performance.
Cash Management & Accounting Controls
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, collections, credit management, and Accounts Payable functions.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital performance.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, insurance renewals, and financial compliance requirements.
Strategic Business Partner
- Support budgeting, forecasting, capital investment evaluations, and strategic planning efforts.
- Translate complex financial information into practical business recommendations.
- Provide leadership with clear insight into profitability, cost drivers, pricing opportunities, and business risks.

- Improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and operational visibility throughout the organization.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting, finance, pricing, manufacturing costing, or related experience.
- Experience leading and developing accounting or finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and product costing.
- Experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, cash management, inventory, and internal controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar advanced credential.
- Experience in plastic injection molding or a comparable manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining customer pricing models and quotations.
- Experience with IQMS/DELMIAWorks ERP systems.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Crystal Reports, or similar reporting tools.
- Proven success improving or automating financial and business processes.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
