You’ll be the technical lead driving multiple software products that matter, from modernization efforts to next-generation growth initiatives.
This is full-lifecycle impact – requirements, architecture, implementation, deployment, and sustainment – with you setting the engineering bar for the team.
You’ll mentor engineers, shape system designs, and use modern AI-assisted development tools to ship better software, faster, without sacrificing quality.

What You'll Work On
You’ll lead core software engineering efforts across complex, distributed mission systems:
- Enterprise-scale software products supporting critical communications and networking
- System modernization and refactoring of existing capabilities
- New feature development across distributed and multi-threaded applications
- Cloud and hybrid-cloud deployments for demanding environments
- Containerized services and orchestration at scale
- APIs and integration points across databases and subsystems
- DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated testing practices
- Resilient, cyber-aware software for DoD and telecom-style domains
You’ll be hands-on with technologies like Java, C++, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Linux, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS GovCloud, and modern DBs.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing technical leadership across the engineering team
- Taking ownership of software products from concept through sustainment
- Designing and evolving software architectures and system designs
- Driving development across the full software lifecycle
- Mentoring junior engineers and elevating engineering standards
- Leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate design, coding, testing, and debugging
- Implementing and maintaining RESTful services and back-end components
- Developing multi-threaded applications in Java and/or C++
- Designing and integrating with relational or distributed databases
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins-based workflows
- Developing, packaging, and deploying containerized applications
- Supporting Kubernetes, cloud, and hybrid-cloud deployments in secure environments
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, OR a graduate degree and 7+ years, OR 13+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Active Secret clearance
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Proven technical leadership and ownership mindset
- Strong software architecture and system design skills
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience (preferred)
- Strong Java and/or C++ development experience
- Experience with Java Spring Boot and REST API development
- Linux development environment and multi-threaded application experience
The Experience That Will Really Get Our Attention
You’re the engineer people turn to when a distributed system is misbehaving in production and the stakes are high. You see the big picture, but you’re just as comfortable deep in a core service, a CI/CD pipeline, or a tricky concurrency bug.
Ideally you’ve built and deployed containerized, cyber-aware applications into cloud or hybrid-cloud environments for DoD, SATCOM, networking, gateway, or telecom-like systems – and you know how DevSecOps and automated testing keep them reliable.
