Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to lead all financial, accounting, and cash management operations for our growing business. At our scale, this is not a detached managerial role; it is a full-charge accounting position that balances daily transaction execution with high-level financial analysis. You will oversee all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly close cycles, treasury management, compliance, and payroll, while serving as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership to guide cash flow, budgeting, and scalable operational growth.
Duties

Execute and oversee the entire end-to-end accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
Perform hands-on monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, and variance analyses within 10 business days of month-end.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts, and financial reporting systems.
Manage day-to-day accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R), collections, and customer invoicing.
2. Cash Management & Treasury
Maintain rolling 13-week cash flow forecasts to optimize working capital and support operational liquidity.
Manage bank relationships, credit facilities, merchant accounts, and daily cash positioning.
Ensure disciplined credit management, proactive A/R collections, and timely vendor disbursements.
3. Financial Planning, Analysis & Strategic Reporting
Partner with the CEO to develop annual operating budgets, departmental forecasts, and cost-control initiatives.
Prepare monthly executive dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and board/investor-facing financial packages with commentary.
Evaluate unit economics, product/service margin performance, and operational expenditures to identify efficiency gains.
4. Compliance, Tax & External Audit Support
Coordinate annual tax filings (federal, state, and local), franchise taxes, and compliance reviews.
Manage state sales and use tax compliance, registrations, and reporting across all operational jurisdictions.
Oversee corporate insurance policies (e.g., General Liability, D&O, Cyber, Workers’ Compensation) and annual renewal processes.
Maintain internal controls appropriate for an agile, mid-market business to safeguard company assets.
5. Payroll, Benefits & HR Administration
Process multi-state, semi-monthly payroll, expense reimbursements, and commission calculations.
Manage retirement plan contributions (e.g., 401(k)), health benefits administration, and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s).
Assist in onboarding and tracking contractor agreements and employee compensation schedules.
