The BAXIMUS Core Values — Humility | Trust | Stewardship | Family | Action
The BAXIMUS Onsite Mission — “Serving Those Who Serve Our Country.”
BAXIMUS is an operating and consulting firm specializing in service and hospitality. BAXIMUS Onsite is our operating arm: we license and operate a variety of restaurant brands on U.S. military installations. Today we operate 3 brands in San Diego and project to open an additional 10-12 locations across the United States over the next 12-18 months. Every one of those restaurants needs to be trained to, and run at, the same brand standard every day.
That is the job. We are hiring a Field Training & Brand Standards Consultant to make sure every BAXIMUS Onsite restaurant has the training, tools and standards it needs to run consistently: building and delivering our training programs, certifying trainers and crews, getting restaurants ready for brand and food-safety audits, and preparing new opening teams. You will be the training and standards expert our General Managers lean on to get their teams trained and their restaurants audit-ready. If you are a hands-on trainer who loves teaching the standard, building simple tools that make it stick, and watching a team get better visit over visit, this is your chance to have a positive influence in the lives of the people who serve our country.
HOW THIS ROLE FITS
This is a training, coaching and compliance role, not a line-management role. Our General Managers report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and this role does not change that. You will work alongside each GM to train, verify and coach; you will not direct daily operations, set schedules, or make hiring, discipline or performance-review decisions. When you find a gap, you train it, document it, and share it with the GM and the COO.
· You own: Training content and delivery, trainer and crew certification, standards evaluations, audit readiness, and training and audit records.
· The General Manager owns: Day-to-day operations, their team, and completing corrective actions in their restaurant.
· The COO owns: GM performance, store results and P&L, and all people decisions. You report training progress and standards findings to the COO.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Training & development
· Build and maintain the training system. New-hire onboarding, station and position certification, and manager-in-training curricula for each brand we operate, in partnership with franchisor training teams and internal corporate support team.
· Train in the restaurants. Deliver hands-on, shift-level training and refreshers during scheduled base visits, and follow up virtually between visits.
· Certify the trainers. Develop and certify a crew trainer in every restaurant so the standard is taught the same way when you are not on site.
· Support leader development. Deliver the training portion of our manager-in-training and GM onboarding programs, and partner with the COO on development plans for shift leaders and managers.
· Prepare opening teams. Train, certify and validate crews for new restaurant openings so the standard is in place before the doors open.
· Roll out what is new. Lead training for new menu items, equipment, procedures and brand initiatives across the portfolio.
Brand standards & compliance
· Evaluate the standard. Conduct scheduled BAXIMUS standards evaluations (food safety, cleanliness, product quality, speed of service and guest experience) using consistent instruments and scoring, and review results with the GM and COO.
· Get restaurants audit-ready. Prepare teams for franchisor audits (Steritech and brand field visits) and health inspections. Partner with the GM on corrective action plans, deliver the retraining, re-verify on your next visit, and escalate repeat gaps to the COO.
· Lead food-safety training. Teach and proctor ServSafe Food Handler and Manager courses, and track certifications and expiration dates for every team member.
Documentation & tools
· Keep the documentation trail. Standards manuals, SOPs, training, certification and audit records, with version control across brands and bases.
· Build the tools that make the standard stick. Job aids, station guides, line checks, prep and cleaning checklists, and the training sections of our opening playbook, so adding a base is a repeatable process, not a new invention.
· Report on progress. A monthly training and standards scorecard for the COO (training completion, certifications, evaluation and audit scores) aligned to our Five Critical Success Factors, with emphasis on Quality & Guest Experience and People & Talent.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
· Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience, plus a performance bonus plan built with you for the 2027 calendar year, tied to training and brand-standards outcomes (e.g., certification completion, evaluation and audit scores, opening readiness).
· Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, sick leave, vacation, and cell phone allowance.
· Travel: Airfare, lodging, rental car and ground transportation covered by BAXIMUS; daily meal per diem while traveling.
· Growth: A defined path in training and brand standards as the portfolio expands; professional development and certification support (ServSafe Instructor/Proctor, franchisor train-the-trainer programs).
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Requirements
· 4+ years of QSR or fast-casual restaurant experience, including at least 2 years in restaurant management (General Manager or Assistant GM) and hands-on experience as a certified trainer, training-store manager, field trainer or new restaurant opening trainer.
· Demonstrated experience creating or improving training materials (onboarding plans, station guides, certification checklists), not only delivering ones that already existed.
· Strong facilitation and coaching skills; able to teach crew members and managers alike, and to influence GMs and teams without direct authority.
· Experience conducting or preparing restaurants for brand-standards audits, food-safety evaluations or health inspections.
· ServSafe Manager certification, or certification within 60 days of hire.
· Organized and detail-oriented with documentation and records; proficient with Microsoft Office, among other software platforms. Learning-management-system (LMS) experience a plus.
· Based in the BAXIMUS office in Central Phoenix, AZ when not traveling; this is an in-person role. Approximately 30–50% travel, concentrated around openings and scheduled base visits.
· Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. military installation access (background check required); valid driver’s license.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent restaurant and training experience considered.
Strongly preferred
· Training experience within a national franchise system (Little Caesars, Smashburger, Chick-fil-A, Yum!, Inspire or similar), including franchisor certification programs, audits and field visits.
· New restaurant opening training-team experience.
· ServSafe Instructor/Proctor certification.
· Non-traditional venue experience (military, airport, campus, stadium or food hall); bilingual English/Spanish.
Qualities — we hire against our Core Values
· HUMILITY — Need for others. Learns a brand before trying to change it; recognizes the need for the team.
· TRUST — Belief in others. Self-motivated and disciplined; operates unsupervised on a base 2,000 miles from the office and represents BAXIMUS without being told how.
· STEWARDSHIP — Responsibility to others. Extreme Ownership of the training and standards entrusted to you, and of every team you train, as if each restaurant were your own.
· FAMILY — Relationship to others. Servant leadership; earns influence through respect rather than title, and treats everyone from the base commander to the dishwasher with honor, dignity and respect.
· ACTION — Serve others. Relentlessly pursue perfection, tolerate excellence. Comfortable with early flights, late closes, and a priority list that changes mid-day.
