Investment Banking Analyst (Chicago)
Firm Description
Juniper is a privately-owned, independent investment banking firm dedicated to providing primarily nonprofit hospitals and health systems with high-quality M&A and other strategic financial advice. Juniper focuses on a select number of clients who seek the firm’s advice on issues including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other major elements of corporate strategy which typically receive consideration from clients’ boards of directors.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of M&A transactions hospitals and health systems across the country
- Provide primary transaction support for bankers and clients’ management teams
- Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financials
- Perform financial modeling, including (but not limited to) company valuation and credit analysis
- Develop and organize presentations, including pitchbooks, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other external or internal materials during client engagements
- Assist in the marketing and planning of client engagements
- Coordinate with clients to perform business due diligence
- Conduct industry and market research, and develop specific market and business reports
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills with direct work experience in the Microsoft product suite (fluency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required)
- Financial modeling, written and verbal business communication, and project management skills as demonstrated through prior work experience
- Preferably direct experience in consulting, finance and/or credit analysis with hospitals
- Related experience in healthcare, higher education, public sector finance, or mergers and acquisitions is strongly preferred, but not required
