SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer position will be involved in the design and purchase of new equipment. The individual will evaluation current production methods and recommend changes for continuous improvement in quality and efficiency, leading to a better product and a reduction of material waste and production cost. The individual will document changes using existing software (Excel, Word, Auto-Cad) and aid with the implementation of any new software. The employee become familiar with the operation of all production equipment and will oversee the testing and run off of any new equipment.
The employee will work closely with manufacturing supervisors and employee’s, maintenance department employee’s, product development employee’s, Information Technology employee’s, vendors, suppliers, and outside contractors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government regulations, industry standards for safety while meeting design standards.
2. Analyze work flow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve the manufacturing efficiency.
3. Design, develop and/or improve the manufacturing process for an assigned area.
4. Provide technical support for a specific plant operation.
5. Keep abreast of current production developments and trends relevant to the manufacturing operation.
6. Analyze production process, methods, and other data and provide a report containing the data and statistics to enable a better understanding of future equipment needs for the manufacturing process.
7. Evaluate, recommend, purchase and support the installation of new equipment to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing operation or for new product offering.
8. Ensure that manufacturing has accurate and detailed information on specifications to produce the required parts.
9. Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for the improvement in quality control.
10. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services to make sure equipment manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.
11. Aid in the programing, start-up and documentation of existing and new CNC equipment.
12. Document implemented cost saving project to verify savings.
13. Perform other duties and assignments as directed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. (preferred not required)
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes and standards.
4. Proficient in MS Office and Auto Cad

3. Occasional climbing, bending or kneeling.

3. Occasional exposure to non-controlled temperatures outside of plant locations.
