Position Summary
The Finance Manager is a key member of Open Door’s administrative team, responsible for the day-to-day execution of financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. While this role requires mastery of accounting and GAAP procedures, major financial decisions and organizational leadership responsibilities rest with the CEO, CDO, and Finance Committee. The Finance Manager ensures the integrity of Open Door’s financial systems, supports program staff in maintaining budgets, and provides timely financial information to senior leadership, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors. This position reports to the CDO.
Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting & Reporting: Develop and maintain budgets, generate monthly financial statements, and produce financial forecasts.
- Financial Operations: Manage Accounts Receivable/Payable, deposits, reconciliations, payroll coordination, and credit card reporting.
- Compliance & Oversight: Coordinate annual audit, ensure GAAP/nonprofit accounting and grant compliance, support accurate expense tracking, and strengthen internal controls.
- Risk & Insurance: Oversee workers’ compensation, property, auto, and liability insurance policies, including annual renewals.
- Collaboration: Work with senior staff to improve efficiencies, reduce expenses, and strengthen financial systems. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Minimum 2 years of financial management or advanced accounting experience.
- Knowledge of nonprofit GAAP standards (CPA not required).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks; ability to learn fund accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct).
- Excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with leadership, program staff, and the Finance Committee.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000–$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule & Work Environment
- Based at the Open Door Administrative Office.
- Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with occasional evening hours for board or committee meetings.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
