Job Description:
The Data Center Consultant will serve as a senior advisor and subject matter expert in the design, operation, and optimization of mission-critical data center environments. This role requires deep expertise in facility management, large-scale data center operations, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on operational best practices for data center facility management, including power, cooling, security, and space utilization.
- Oversee or assess end-to-end data center operations to drive improvements in reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Design, evaluate, and integrate Building Management Systems (BMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and automated controls.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend solutions for disaster recovery, compliance, and uptime assurance.
- Lead or support audits, modernization, and expansion projects for enterprise-class data centers.
- Collaborate with client technical and management teams to align infrastructure strategy with business goals.
- Provide strategic guidance on industry trends, next-gen technologies, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in data center management, operations, and facility consulting.
- Demonstrated expertise with BMS/BAS deployment and integration.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, security, fire suppression).
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills for executive-level consulting.
- Deep knowledge of industry standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, TIA-942, or similar).
Preferred:
- Certifications such as Data Center Certified Professional (DCD, CDCP, etc.) or equivalent.
- Prior experience with hyperscale or colocation data centers.
This is a senior consulting role for individuals passionate about shaping resilient, efficient, and future-ready data center environments.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $44.59 - $53.70 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 4 per week
