Position Overview: Event Writer and Researcher
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Event Writer and Researcher. This hybrid role is based primarily in Washington, D.C., with potential travel to key defense-related events in locations such as San Diego, Huntsville, Tampa, Fayetteville, and Honolulu.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend industry conferences, events, and gatherings to gather insights on defense technologies and programs.
- Take detailed notes on key findings, data, and interactions observed at these events.
- Engage with professionals and vendors at booths to capture valuable information regarding customer interactions and company demeanor.
- Attend panels and discussions to extract critical insights relevant to the defense community.
- Collaborate with the OFFSET editorial team to transform your findings into well-structured articles, reports, and presentations.
- Participate in video or live discussions, sharing insights and engaging with community members.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing, editing, and note-taking skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to conduct research and present information clearly.
- Familiarity with defense technology firms and industry trends.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to travel as needed to attend events and work independently in a hybrid environment.
- Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred; experience in the defense industry is a plus.
