Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Buyer to join our client's healthcare procurement team. This professional will be responsible for managing the complete procurement cycle of medical supplies, equipment, and services. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional organizational abilities, and maintains a strong commitment to customer service excellence. This is a contract role that does require the ability to work on-site in Valhalla, NY.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive procurement operations and provide superior support to departments
- Evaluate and process purchase requisitions, ensuring alignment with specifications and departmental budgets
- Collaborate with department stakeholders to clarify requirements and optimize purchasing decisions
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, delivery, and quality
- Support Value Analysis initiatives and process new item requests
- Assist Contract Category Managers in local agreement negotiations
- Oversee special order items and determine Value Analysis Process requirements
- Perform daily reconciliation of confirmations and invoices
- Execute price comparison analytics and market research
- Monitor purchase order status, backorder reports, and conduct month-end closing procedures
- Participate in Lean Daily Management initiatives
- Identify and source alternative products for back-ordered or recalled items
- Utilize advanced procurement systems and business applications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma with 2+ years of relevant procurement experience, OR Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of procurement experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing logistics and processes
- Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- Experience with Lawson and McKesson Supply Chain Management (MSCM)
- Healthcare procurement experience
