The Machine Design & Development Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of new equipment.

- Assist with mechanical design of new equipment.
- Assist with upgrades and modifications to existing equipment.
- Research, locate and quote mechanical and electrical parts for new equipment designs.
- Coordinate order and delivery of mechanical and electrical parts with Project Leader.
- Manage new equipment projects.
- Prepare technical manuals for new equipment.
- Prepare assembly and part drawings for new equipment.
- Maintain all existing CAD drawings to include folders and sub-folders.
- Manage parts room for plant, rebuilds and HRH.
- Prepare spare parts lists for new equipment.
- Organize and consolidate parts room to include identifying obsolete parts.
- Develop and maintain ordering system for internal parts.
- Prepare preventative maintenance schedule for new equipment.
- Convert all hand drawn drawings to electronic format (AutoCAD).
5+ years of experience in equipment design.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, 3D and Solid Works.
Experience with automating collaborative robots, preferred.
Experience designing custom machines, preferred.
Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to organize and plan work.
Ability to handle stress of deadlines and constantly changing priorities.
Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Must understand mechanical equipment.
Ability to evaluate situation and make decisions with little or no guidance.
