Position Summary
The Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist is a full-time position dedicated to supporting the organization’s internal and external marketing and communications strategies. The Specialist will work under the direction of the Operations Manager to manage various aspects of Kinnect’s marketing and communications activities with emphasis on developing and optimizing its digital presence.
The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist plays a key role in developing and executing digital strategies that promote Kinnect’s mission, increase awareness, engage stakeholders, and support fundraising and programmatic goals. This role is responsible for creating compelling content across web, email, supporting internal communications and social platforms, managing campaigns, and analyzing performance to optimize impact.
The specialist will also support special events by creating content and coordinating digital communications.
Essential Functions
- Develop content that is informative and engaging.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create campaign content aligned with organizational goals and brand messaging
- Provide innovative ideas for optimizing Kinnect’s on-line presence.
- Continuously improve Kinnect’s website appearance, utility, and functionality. Provide support to Kinnect team with website postings.
- Maintain tracking to assess effectiveness of Kinnect’s digital strategy.
- Assist with enhancing internal and external communication channels, format, and content.
- Provide marketing and communications support for special events.
- Create, edit and publish engaging digital content (emails, social media, videos, etc.).
- Continued refinement of communication strategies that support the organization in securing funding through government contracts, private foundations, and individual donors.
- Design and send email campaigns (e.g., newsletters, appeals, event promotions) using platforms like Mailchimp, LGL.
- Track and report on KPIs across all digital platforms using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and email metrics.
- Use data to monitor trends and audience engagement to inform strategy and improve performance
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, and/or a related field.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working in digital marketing and communications.
- Experience creating content, both written and visual that engages diverse audiences.
- Knowledge and ability to launch multiple digital strategies to engage stakeholders.
- Experience in marketing and communications for special events.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Google (GSuite) programs.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and communications measurement processes.
- Detail oriented.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience working in a non-profit organization.
- Creative capabilities that translate into effective communications and marketing content.
- Self-starter who can work independently.
- Comfort in providing and receiving feedback.
- Advanced knowledge of digital platforms.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work environment, with expectations to work at the Cleveland office or other locations, as requested.
- This job generally operates in a remote or Kinnect headquarters office environment, but may require some travel.
- The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
