Summary:
We are currently looking for a Buyer II to work with a Leading US Turnkey Energy Solutions Company specializing in innovative service and equipment solutions for the energy industry worldwide. They have designed, built, and deployed numerous projects working collaboratively with EPC’s. You’ll own sourcing and purchasing for both production components and indirect goods, drive supplier negotiations for long-lead items (some with up to 18-month lead times), and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Quality to keep build schedules on time. This role requires hands-on procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to travel to supplier sites.
What you’ll do as the Buyer II
- Coordinate with Production Planning & Scheduling to align procurement timelines with manufacturing build schedules.
- Source, quote, place and expedite purchase orders for direct manufacturing components and indirect services.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance; proactively identify risks on long-lead and critical-path items and implement mitigations.
- Negotiate pricing, blanket POs and vendor-managed inventory arrangements to reduce cost and improve delivery.
- Support Engineering, Project Managers and leadership in contract/subcontract administration and supplier scope.
- Resolve supplier quality issues, warranty claims and cost-of-failure recoveries in partnership with Quality and Manufacturing.
- Maintain procurement records, budgets, and delivery visibility to minimize downtime and delay costs.
As the Buyer II you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent; 3–5+ years progressive purchasing/procurement experience.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating high-cost / long-lead components (supplier lead times up to 18 months).
- Strong commercial judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read engineered drawings.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable with travel up to 50% (domestic & international).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; employer will not sponsor work visas.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen & background check.
