MARKETING RESEARCH ANALYST (LEAD GENERATION) | Marketing & Sales
Summary:
We are seeking an entry-level Marketing Research Analyst (Lead Generation) to build a steady, high-quality flow of targeted sales leads each week. The ideal teammate is fast on the keyboard, meticulous with data, and eager to learn—resourceful, process-driven, and relentless about data quality. You will apply market research across our CRM and approved third‑party tools to identify ICP-fit organizations and decision makers, enrich and verify contacts, and continuously improve the workflow.
Essential Functions
- Own weekly lead production: build, enrich, and deliver ICP‑fit lead lists on a set cadence (e.g., every Monday), prioritized by campaign themes and territories.
- Mine data sources: use our CRM, internal datasets, and approved third‑party tools (LinkedIn/Sales Navigator, Apollo, ZoomInfo, etc.) to identify target organizations and decision makers.
- Enrich & verify contacts: add titles, emails, LinkedIn URLs, firmographics, and buying signals; verify deliverability and tag opt‑out/compliance status.
- Score & segment: rank by fit/intent; segment by industry, size/AUM, geo, and role for efficient sales workflows.
- Maintain data hygiene: deduplicate records, normalize fields, and keep “source” and “last verified” metadata clean and auditable.
- Report weekly: share a short, numbers‑first update (lead volume, completeness %, bounce rate, top sources) and propose next tests.
- Continuously improve: document steps; suggest new sources, filters, and queries that increase yield and quality.
Competencies & Skills
- Early‑career, high‑velocity learner (0–2 years in lead research, marketing ops, sales ops, or data entry) or a demonstrable portfolio.
- Spreadsheet fluency: filters, lookups, pivot tables; disciplined about clean, consistent data.
- Process‑minded & organized: can turn a vague brief into a repeatable workflow and refine it weekly.
- Clear, concise written communication with metrics and takeaways.
- Compliance awareness: CAN‑SPAM/GDPR basics, opt‑out handling, and ethical use of public data.
- Preferred: light SQL or Python for data manipulation; experience with email deliverability tools; familiarity with institutional buyer landscapes (RIAs, allocators, asset managers) when relevant.
- Tools: Salesforce (CRM), LinkedIn + Sales Navigator, Apollo/ZoomInfo/Clearbit, Crunchbase/PitchBook (as relevant), BuiltWith/Similarweb, company sites & filings, Excel.
Success in 30/60/90 Days
- 30 days: ship reliable weekly lists used by Sales; document queries/sources.
- 60 days: improve volume and accuracy; achieve ≤3–5% bounce on verified emails; add ≥2 high‑yield sources.
- 90 days: operate a repeatable, documented lead engine with clear KPIs; optionally mentor a part‑time assistant or automate a step.
