Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Claims Adjuster to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating insurance claims, determining coverage, and negotiating settlements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze insurance claims to determine validity and coverage under applicable policies.
- Conduct thorough investigations of claims, including gathering evidence, interviewing claimants, and consulting with experts as needed.
- Utilize auto estimating tools to assess damages and calculate appropriate settlements.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and third parties while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Identify potential fraud indicators and implement fraud prevention detection measures as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of claims activities in financial software systems.
- Stay informed about workers' compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all claims handling processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex claims issues effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in claims adjusting or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills for assessing complex information and making sound decisions.
- Proficient in auto estimating software and financial software applications.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation law is highly desirable.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for both the company and the claimant.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attend and participate in occasional client meetings.
