Position Overview:
The M&A Analyst position is entry level, it is ideal for a recent bachelor's in business graduate, who has worked 1-2 internships or 1 year in an investment or financial organization. M&A Research Analysts are a key member of the development team who research, identify and qualify acquisition targets for our investor clients. Leveraging a mix of technology utilizing our proprietary ai driven platform combined with qualitative research methods developed by the company, you will identify founder led companies that align with our client's specific investment criteria. This role involves qualitative company and industry-sector analyses focused on identifying acquisition targets that match the acquisition criteria of our clients from a business/strategic fit perspective, as well as identifying potential buyers of actionable acquisition targets.
As a key member of the client engagement team you'll work with Executive leads, Business Development professionals at multiple levels providing great exposure and learning opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience learning about a broad set of industries, business sectors, and business types and to have a front row seat to the M&A development process as executed by industry leading investors.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing multiple client engagements as Research analyst lead
- Participation in client M&A strategy sessions
- Set up new clients to initiate research process, documenting requirements and investment objectives
- Leverage company resources, research platform and systems to develop lists of potential companies that align with client objectives
- Analyze potential companies by researching data presented, company websites and more to identify best potential fit to least
- Prepare lists to share with clients for approval
- Collaborate with your deal team including business development and deal leads, and client to refine search criteria as necessary
- Maintain required levels of active targets for each engagement, continually engaging with clients for feedback and approval
- Attend regular client update calls, discuss target companies and evolving criteria for the engagement

Qualifications:
- Required: Recent Bachelor's degree graduate - Business preferred
- Not Currently Hiring: MBAs, students in MBA or Bachelor's programs, or those holding/pursuing CFA
- Top Candidates will have:
-1 yr work experience or 1-2 Internships in investment or financial org, private equity a plus
-Experience using CRM, sales intelligence and/or research tools - DealCloud and Outreach.io a plus
-Research related work experience
-Proficient in MS Office suite
Position Location:
- This position is located in our downtown office in Austin, Texas with work hours of 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
- Applicants must live in the Austin area currently or are able to be in Austin area full time within giving their 2 week's notice to current employer as this is an immediate hire. There is no relocation assistance offered for this position.
