Overview
I am looking for a part-time deisgn assistant to join my team in Nashville, TN.
This will be a hybrid position: partially WFH and partially in person working together in Nashville and visiting job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and an understanding of the design and construction process. This role involves site measurements, creating Sketchup models and AutoCAD design plans, purchasing coordination, project installations and styling, and attending in person client meetings. There is lots of room to grow in this role as the company grows. For now we are a small firm with projects all over Nashville, Knoxville, Montana, and California.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred, or currently in design school.
- 1 year of experience or a previous internship.
- Proficiency in design software including SketchUp and AutoCAD. Plus if you know enscape or vray, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiar with IVY, Houzz Pro, or similar design softwares. (not required).
- Understanding of color theory, drafting techniques, construction processes, renovation practices, and real-life design styling.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
- Knowledge of budgeting principles related to interior design projects.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A portfolio showcasing previous work in interior design is helpful.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
