Responsible for designing and developing new motor assemblies, managing part design, and overseeing change management for existing motors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Design and develop motor products, including the creation of 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and proof-of-concept evaluations.
· Generate drawings and bills of materials (BOM) for Moons’ motor projects; collaborate with cross-functional teams to define manufacturing processes, supply chain strategies, and inspection standards.
· Coordinate with supplier factory teams; conduct comprehensive design reviews for parts and tooling quotations, support part and tool development, and contribute to first article inspections for part approval.
· Assemble, test, and analyze First Unit to Test (FUTT) prototypes.
· Participate in Design for Manufacturability and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) as required.
· Conduct performance testing and establish product specifications.
· Offer technical expertise to manufacturing operations, Lin Engineering’s design engineers, and procurement personnel.
· Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
· Assess competitive products and compile reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
· Assist in product field failure (RMA) analysis.
· Complete and follow up on engineering requests/orders.
· Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
· A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is required; 0–3 years of experience in product design and engineering change management preferred.
· Experience as a design engineer for high-volume mechanical products utilizing die casting, injection molding, machining, and stamping techniques is desirable. Knowledge of motor design is advantageous.
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to part and assembly design.
· Proficiency in GD&T and its application.
· Experience with mechanical and electrical test equipment (e.g., calipers, machine tools, oscilloscopes, DMMs, dynamometers, torque transducers) is a plus.
Computer Skills:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
· Proficient in computer-aided design software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk, Pro/E, or comparable mechanical design programs.
· Familiarity or experience with SAP is considered an asset.
