Financial Analyst 1 (HYBRID)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Financial Analyst for their Vancouver, Washington location. This contract Financial Analyst position provides financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting for capital, expense, and reimbursable programs, ensuring compliance with organizational policies. The role supports project and program managers by tracking assets, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting and unitization of capital projects. The analyst collaborates with executives, managers, finance teams, project staff, and external stakeholders to deliver accurate financial insights that guide decision-making and support operational planning within the Transmission Engineering and Business Intelligence organization.

Pay Rate: $30.00 – 32.50/hr. DOE.
Location: Vancouver, WA.
Hybrid: 3 days per 2-week pay period.
Key Responsibilities of Financial Analyst:
- Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations in accordance with accounting standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal policies.
- Track, analyze, and report on capital and expense projects, including asset placement, retirement, and depreciation.
- Prepare clear and actionable financial reports for stakeholders, including finance teams, auditors, project managers, and executive leadership.
- Research, track, and process accruals, reversals, and adjustments to support accurate financial reporting.
- Evaluate program costs, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with project and program managers to forecast, consolidate, and analyze costs versus estimates for major projects.
- Conduct data analysis and reporting for key financial reviews, business initiatives, and budget planning.
- Provide financial guidance and training to project staff on processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Identify gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Create spreadsheets, charts, and presentations to illustrate financial data for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain organized and compliant financial records in accordance with governance, information security, and auditing standards.
Requirements/Qualification of Financial Analyst:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Business Mathematics or a closely related technical field is preferred.
- 6 months: Experience in the following:
- Financial analysis
- Financial forecasting
- Working knowledge of automated data systems.
- Running queries, generating reports to support management, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in an automated environment.
- Researching data anomalies, evaluating information gathered (sometimes from multiple sources), and reconciling data conflicts.
