Job Description
Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Remote contract Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop material models and support novel analysis methodologies in the Mechanical Design discipline
- Generate basic sizing calculations for reactor components
- Perform mechanical analyses using the finite element method with commercial codes
- Study ASME BPVC Section III, Division 5
- Conduct technical reviews of the Company and supplier designs and deliverables.
Job Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university and 4+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. in Mechanical or related discipline with 2+ years of experience
- Engineer in training (EIT) or licensed PE desired
- Recent experience with mechanical analysis software (ANSYS preferred)
- Recent experience with scripting software (Python and ANSYS APDL preferred)
- Familiar with material failure mechanisms and the application of design standards and codes
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
- Demonstrated hardware ownership
- Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence
- Strong communication skills desired
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and have a desire to foster teamwork
- Actual position, starting level, and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications
- Travel Required: 0-5%.

- Job Type: Contract
- Pay Rate Range: $52-$85/hr.
- Location: 100% Remote Acceptable
