Commissioning Manager

A fast-growing and forward-thinking data center provider is seeking a skilled Commissioning Manager to oversee and execute the commissioning of mission-critical infrastructure across colocation and hyperscale projects. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-performance data center environments for major enterprise and cloud clients.
The Role:
The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of the commissioning process-from pre-design through integrated systems testing-ensuring that all MEP systems are fully functional, code-compliant, and aligned with operational requirements before turnover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage commissioning activities across multiple data center sites.
- Review and validate design documentation, construction plans, and test scripts to ensure readiness.
- Coordinate and oversee Level 1-5 commissioning processes for mechanical, electrical, BMS, EPMS, and critical systems.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, third-party commissioning agents, general contractors, and vendors.
- Maintain project timelines, documentation, and reporting throughout the commissioning lifecycle.
- Support integrated systems testing (IST) and manage punch list resolution before project handover.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA, etc.) and client-specific requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of commissioning protocols and best practices.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in MEP commissioning within data center or mission-critical environments, with a hands-on approach and excellent organizational skills.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commissioning experience, with a focus on mission-critical infrastructure.
- Proven success delivering commissioning for colocation and/or hyperscale data center projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, and controls integration.
- Familiarity with commissioning levels and industry standards.
- Experience working with commissioning agents, vendors, and engineering teams.
- Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Engineering degree or technical background preferred; certifications such as CxA or LEED AP are a plus.
- Willingness to travel to data center sites as needed.
