Facilities Operations Support Engineer

Position Overview
The Facilities Operations Support Engineer will be responsible for managing small to mid-scale oil and gas facility projects from concept through commissioning. This position is embedded with the Production Operations team in Midland, supporting day-to-day facility optimization, artificial lift upgrades, and reliability improvements across our Permian Basin assets. This is a hands-on, field-integrated engineering role requiring strong technical knowledge, project management discipline, and close collaboration with Production Operations, Maintenance, and Production Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead projects from cradle to grave — including scoping, budgeting, risk assessment/MOC, execution, and PSSR.
- Facility Modifications & Upgrades: Plan and execute projects such as flowline replacements, vessel swaps, piping reroutes, and equipment upgrades.
- Artificial Lift Installations: Support design and installation of artificial lift systems, with a strong emphasis on gas lift compression projects.
- Infrastructure Improvements: Manage small to mid-scale projects that enhance production reliability, optimization, and uptime.
- Execution Support: Coordinate vendors, manage field construction activities, and ensure safe, compliant, and on-schedule delivery.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Production Operations and Engineering to align facility work with operating priorities. Participate in weekly operations meetings.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate drawings, cost tracking, and MOC documentation for all assigned projects.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas facilities engineering, project management, or operations support.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of oil and gas production facilities, including flowlines, separators, compression, and artificial lift.
- Familiarity with MOC processes, PSSR, and field construction workflows.
Soft Skills:
- Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively across functions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing operational priorities and fast-paced project timelines.
Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience).
Work Location: Must be Midland-based and available for regular field visits and in-person team meetings.
Schedule: 40 hour week
Salary: $65-$85/hr
