The External Affairs Division is responsible for promoting the Agency’s work through multimedia channels to reach and engage New York City’s diverse communities. The Community Graphic Designer will report to the Assistant Commissioner for Creative Services. Duties of the Community Graphic Designer will include.
- Assist and collaborate effectively with the Senior Graphic Designer and meet project deadlines;
- Attend, participate, and lead community outreach events, and assess community stakeholder feedback of Agency materials;
- Assist with design of Agency materials and marketing collaterals, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, reports, advertising, inspection checklists, posters, signage, custom forms, licensing plates, stickers, etc;
- Provide design support for Agency digital projects, including graphic needs for the Agency’s intranet, website, social media platforms, and multimedia presentations;
- Help develop plans for public education campaigns in cooperation with other Agency staff;
- Coordinate with outside vendors (i.e., printers, translation services, etc.) when needed to provide needed assets or to ensure proper production of print materials; and
- Other duties as needed.

Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
