The ATP Group, Inc. (ATP) is currently seeking a qualified illustrator to grow with us as part of our Art Department. ATP provides learners with high-quality educational/training materials to help build the skills required for employment and advancement in a trade. Description:
The Associate Illustrator completes production tasks related to the creation and manipulation of designs, illustrations, photographic material, page layouts, graphics, and other art elements used in textbooks, electronic media, and related technical training materials. Work is of a technical and detail-oriented nature, created within the company's standard procedures and brand guidelines. The work environment is collaborative with direct guidance received from peers and the Art Manager.
Job Duties:
- Perform computer-based tasks associated with illustration development, photographic manipulation, and related layout activities
- Implement brad and design standards with consistency
- Update and maintain artwork quality in Adobe Illustrator
- Apply procedures for layout using templates in Adobe InDesign
- Learn best practices for accessibility, interactive PDF, and EPUB production
- Color correct images in Adobe Photoshop
- Organize, tag, and label image libraries with Adobe Bridge and a digital asset management system
- Document production time on tasks completed
- Complete other art, marketing, and production duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Entry-level proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of photo editing, including resolution settings, color modes, file types, color correction, editing images, and generative AI
- Ability to interpret technical references, print reading symbols, and proofreading marks
- Ability to learn new skills to produce products for the latest trends in EPUBs, accessibility, online coursework, marketing, and web products.
- Ability to implement troubleshooting techniques, follow new production procedures, and quality control initiatives
- Flexibility in types of assignments, including corrections, layout, illustration, slides, accessibility remediation, PDF tagging, and EPUB
- Fulfill art requests from all departments, such as finding images, prepping web files, and designing for marketing
- Ability to focus on quality control checks for web products
- Dedication to meeting production goals with consistency and accuracy in technical details

Working Conditions:
- Office environment with tasks executed on a networked PC workstation. Infrequent travel may be required.
Education/Training/Experience:
- Degree in graphic design, art, technical illustration, graphic communications, or industrial technology, preferred
- 1-3 years working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Bridge) preferred
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is a plus
