Position Overview
The Operations Manager (Wind Blade Repair) will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all blade repair operations across multiple sites. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical understanding of blade repair processes, inspection methods, and field coordination. The Operations Manager will manage field teams, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and drive operational efficiency through process optimization and cross-departmental communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of wind turbine blade repair operations across assigned projects.
- Supervise and mentor field leadership, technicians, and site coordinators to ensure work quality and safety compliance.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inspection, repair, and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with clients, OEM representatives, and internal stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Manage scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training coordination, and technician development programs.
- Track operational metrics (safety, productivity, quality) and implement process improvements.
- Support the implementation of ISO 9001 and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead site visits, audits, and client meetings to represent A-LEAF with professionalism and technical expertise.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of operations management experience within the Wind Industry
- Proven expertise in blade repair, inspection, and composite materials.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary teams across multiple locations.
- Experience in safety management systems, QMS, and operational reporting.
- Transferable operations management experience from industrial, manufacturing, or construction sectors will be considered, but blade repair experience is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management tools, and reporting software.
