Position Overview
A successful and growing automotive organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its financial operations and provide strategic oversight.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in automotive dealership accounting with a proven ability to drive results.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
- Maintain and enforce strong internal controls to protect company assets.
- Manage cash flow, banking, and treasury operations.
- Ensure all tax filings and regulatory reports are accurate and completed on time.
- Partner with leadership to analyze performance and support business decision-making.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Supervise and develop accounting staff to ensure accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in automotive retail or dealership operations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with DMS systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or Dealertrack) and advanced Excel skills.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
