Thermoforming Design Engineer
Location: Hammond, IN
MUST HAVES:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in thermoformed product and tooling design
Advanced SolidWorks proficiency (part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings)
Strong knowledge of thermoforming materials, tooling construction, and forming processes
Experience working with machine shops or toolmakers on tooling fabrication and validation

Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop thermoformed packaging products and tooling systems from concept to full-scale production.
Create and refine 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
Conduct feasibility studies, tolerance analyses, and design optimizations to enhance cost-effectiveness and performance.
Collaborate with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with design standards.
Support tooling fabrication, testing, and validation, ensuring tools meet performance requirements.
Diagnose and resolve tooling and product issues, recommending effective engineering solutions.
Maintain detailed and accurate design documentation and adhere to company standards and best practices.
