About the Role
We are a growing independent wealth management firm seeking an experienced professional to oversee and expand our 401(k) and retirement plan business while contributing to broader financial planning and investment management efforts.
You will manage day-to-day administration and client service for several existing retirement plans, while helping to ensure the business is positioned for continued growth. This role also provides an opportunity to engage in comprehensive wealth management activities, including portfolio reviews, financial planning, and tax strategy coordination.
This is an excellent fit for someone with experience in qualified plans who also wants to expand their impact across personal financial planning and investment management.
Key Responsibilities
Retirement Plan Management:
- Serve as primary contact for plan sponsors and participants.
- Coordinate with recordkeepers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and custodians.
- Oversee plan compliance, fund lineup reviews, and investment policy adherence.
- Conduct employee education meetings and participant consultations.
- Assist in onboarding new plans and ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience.
Wealth Management & Financial Planning:
- Support advisors with financial plans, portfolio analysis, and performance reviews.
- Conduct tax and retirement projections for client households.
- Participate in client review meetings, assisting with data gathering and follow-up.
- Prepare investment recommendations and assist in rebalancing and implementation.
- Maintain accurate CRM and planning software data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 3–5+ years in financial planning, retirement plan administration, or investment advisory roles.
- Strong understanding of 401(k)/qualified plan operations, compliance, and participant education.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working independently within a small team.
Licensing:
- Preferred: SIE, Series 7, CFP® certification (or progress toward it), or CRPC.
- Insurance and securities licensing (Series 7/63) a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
