We’re looking for an exceptional Equity Derivatives Trading Assistant to join our expanding team at United First Partners — a global brokerage firm with a leading presence in event-driven equities and equity derivatives. This is a rare opportunity to work directly alongside senior derivatives traders in a fast-moving, high-intensity trading environment — ideal for someone ambitious, analytical, and eager to build a career in markets.
About the Role
You’ll support a high-touch agency equity derivatives desk active across listed instruments, working directly alongside senior traders. Day-to-day responsibilities blend trade support and operational precision — from trade confirmation, settlement, and daily reconciliation to assisting with client executions and trade analysis. You’ll gain first-hand exposure to equity derivatives and trading workflows while collaborating closely with sales, trading, and external counterparties to resolve inquiries and ensure smooth execution. In addition, you’ll work with finance and technology teams to maintain accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all processes, and play an active role in identifying opportunities to streamline middle office workflows, enhance controls, and reduce operational risk.
What We’re Looking For
• Sharp attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A team-first mindset and the humility to handle any task, big or small.
• Intellectual curiosity about derivatives, trading mechanics, and market structure.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
• Working knowledge of Excel and basic familiarity with VB.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Must obtain Series 7, 57, and 63 within 3 months of hire.
• Ideal for candidates with 1–3 years of experience, but open to strong applicants with demonstrated capability.
Responsibilities
• Trade Confirmation and Settlement: Confirm and settle equity derivatives trades accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash flows between internal systems and external counterparties to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Risk Management: Monitor and manage various risks associated with equity derivatives trading, including execution, counterparty, and operational risk.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulatory developments and ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, reporting requirements, and best practices.
• Process Improvement: Continuously enhance middle office processes and controls to support business growth.
