Mechanical Test Engineer
Job Description
Applus+ Keystone, a regulatory compliance test lab located in New Castle, PA, is currently seeking candidates for a Mechanical Test Engineer position. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent character, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. We are looking for someone who can work independently, is self-motivated, and can manage their time effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute test programs with a high level of quality to meet scheduled demands.
- Testing activity includes but is not limited to vibration, acceleration, temperature, humidity, altitude, hydraulic, pneumatic, corrosion, rain, wind, ice, solar radiation, fungus resistance and ingress protection.
- Communicate with customers to plan and troubleshoot test programs.
- Coordinate testing with external partners and other internal departments.
- Use CAD software to design and build vibration fixtures and test setups.
- Develop and update internal lab operating procedures.
- Prepare engineering estimates to support quoting test programs and department budgets.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with interpreting drawings, schematics and standards and machining, welding, fabrication, HVAC, electricity and electronics are a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office and 3D modeling software. Experience with Fusion 360 is a plus.
- Be as comfortable working with tools as working on a keyboard.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods while conducting tests.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer. Citizenship must permit compliance with the requirements of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
