About the Role
We are seeking a Sourcing Engineer to play a critical role in shaping the future of our medical and surgical product portfolio. This position goes beyond traditional sourcing, it's about partnering with suppliers, engineering teams, and clinical stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that improve patient care.
You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from early design stages to product launch, ensuring that sourcing strategies align with engineering specifications, quality standards, and business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Drive supplier development and negotiations, leveraging knowledge of manufacturing processes and commodity strategies.
- Identify and qualify new or alternative suppliers to mitigate risk and enhance supply resilience.
- Collaborate with engineering and clinical teams to translate feedback into actionable design improvements and new product development.
- Perform supplier evaluations, qualifications, and ongoing performance reviews.
- Partner with sourcing and quality teams to ensure specifications for components and assemblies meet stringent standards.
- Manage sourcing projects, including market research, RFIs/RFPs, contract negotiations, and implementation.
- Monitor and improve key metrics such as supply risk, quality, cost, and lead time.
- Build strong relationships across global teams and suppliers to meet timeline, financial, and operational goals.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
- Experience: 3-5 years in sourcing, supplier development, or related engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies and their impact on design and cost.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across functions and time zones.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
- Familiarity with validation processes (IQ, OQ, PQ) is a plus.
