Position Summary
MPSA is seeking a Portfolio Strategy Analyst to support the company’s operations and affiliated portfolio ventures through research, analysis, and strategic project coordination. This role serves as a central resource for the MPSA President and portfolio company CEOs by transforming outlines, meeting notes, and data into clear reports, presentations, and analyses that support executive decision-making, investor engagement, and operational execution.
The position combines analytical and communications responsibilities, including market and competitive research, business case development, and preparation of investor or board materials. The ideal candidate brings intellectual curiosity, strong writing and presentation skills, and the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights for leadership.
This position reports directly to MPSA leadership, works closely with portfolio company executives.
Key Responsibilities
Research and Synthesis (40%)
- Conduct structured research on markets, competitors, technologies, and business models relevant to MPSA and portfolio companies.
- Synthesize insights from public filings, industry databases, and internal data into concise summaries and strategy briefs.
- Support business cases development and due diligence activities
Report and Presentation Development (30%)
- Create investor decks, board and strategic updates, and executive presentations with guidance from executive leadership.
- Develop clear, visually engaging materials that communicate complex business or technical topics succinctly.
- Maintain standardized templates and visual assets for recurring materials such as board decks, strategy reviews, and monthly updates.
Project Coordination and Documentation (30%)
- Track key initiatives, deliverables, and milestones across portfolio companies (e.g., product, regulatory, and financing timelines).
- Support preparation and follow-up from strategic meetings and investor interactions.
- Coordinate data collection across teams and maintain internal dashboards or trackers summarizing progress.
- Help identify gaps, risks, and dependencies in ongoing programs.
Cross-functional Coordination and Support (10%)
- Collaborate with finance, business development, and clinical teams to align materials and data.
- Provide research and writing support for strategic communications, grant applications, and partnership proposals.
- Manage shared reference libraries and document repositories for easy retrieval of key materials.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, biomedical sciences, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, or analytical roles in medtech, healthcare, or life sciences.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills with proven ability to summarize information.
- Proficiency in creating and presenting PowerPoint decks and written reports to executive leadership.
- Familiarity with literature and data-retrieval tools (e.g., PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov).
- Excellent communication and organization skills; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-functional, and fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Master’s degree (MBA, MPH, MS, or similar) or equivalent business training.
- Experience preparing investor or board materials for early-stage companies.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation, or KPI tracking.
- Knowledge of the medical device regulatory environment (FDA pathways, reimbursement, etc.)
