Job Summary
As a Plastics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and manufacturing of plastic products. You’ll leverage your expertise in mechanical engineering and chemical engineering to innovate and optimize processes, ensuring high-quality outcomes. Your contributions will drive product development and enhance manufacturing efficiency while adhering to industry standards.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop plastic components using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to meet project specifications.
- Conduct research and development activities to explore new materials and processes in plastics engineering.
- Oversee project scheduling to ensure timely completion of product development milestones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure precision in fabrication.
- Perform laboratory experiments to test material properties and product performance.
- Analyze data collection results to inform design improvements and manufacturing practices.
- Ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards in all engineering projects.
Basic qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in plastics blow molding and injection molding processes.
Preferred qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Experience in quality control methodologies within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques relevant to plastics engineering.
- Background in research & development related to new plastic products or materials.
