A reputable general contractor is seeking an Assistant Controller to support financial operations and oversee core accounting functions. This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor/Manager who is ready to step into a broader leadership role. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare timely, accurate monthly financial statements and assist with the month-end close process.
Manage and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and oversee revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion methodology.
Strengthen internal controls, accounting workflows, and reporting processes with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
Support annual audits, providing documentation and acting as the primary liaison with auditors.
Maintain compliance with GAAP, industry standards, and internal policies.
Collaborate with the project accounting team, including a Project Accounting Manager, to ensure consistency and accuracy across operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry.
Experience with WIP, revenue recognition, percentage-of-completion accounting, and financial statement preparation required
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
ERP experience; proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling).
CPA or eligibility preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $100,000–$120,000 + additional profit-sharing
Retirement: 401(k) with 3% employer contribution
PTO: 3 weeks PTO + 1 week sick time
