The Royal Caribbean Group Marine Operations team has an exciting career opportunity for a full Analyst Low Carbon Fuels reporting to the Senior Director Decarbonization Strategy
Position Overview
The Analyst Low Carbon Fuels supports Royal Caribbean Group’s efforts to evaluate track and expand the use of low-carbon fuels across the global fleet as part of the company’s Destination Net Zero strategy The successful candidate will combine analytical rigor with strong data management skills to help quantify performance identify opportunities and ensure alignment between decarbonization targets sourcing decisions and regulatory compliance
This role bridges fuel market analytics with operational performance tracking providing essential insights that guide procurement budgeting and carbon compliance planning
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Low-Carbon Fuel Use Tracking and Reporting
Maintain and continuously update the Group’s database of low-carbon fuel consumption across brands and vessels including volumes suppliers blends and regions

Quantify and track the emissions reductions achieved from biofuels and other alternative fuels relative to baseline fossil fuels Develop dashboards and periodic reports summarizing usage trends carbon savings and financial implications (cost per metric ton of CO₂e abated) Support integration of low-carbon fuel data into enterprise reporting systems used for EU ETS FuelEU Maritime and IMO compliance Reconcile fuel procurement delivery and onboard consumption data to ensure traceability and alignment with sustainability reporting standards (eg ISCC RSB certification) Collaborate with Supply Chain and Finance to validate data for audits compliance filings and internal performance reviews
Market and Pathway Analysis
Conduct ongoing research and analysis of emerging low-carbon fuel markets including HVO FAME RNG bio-LNG green methanol and e-fuels

Track market prices production capacity CI (carbon intensity) values and supplier certifications to support strategic sourcing decisions Benchmark competitors and industry peers on low-carbon fuel adoption and decarbonization progress Maintain a global database of potential suppliers and fuel producers summarizing their feedstock certification and delivery capabilities
Strategic Sourcing and Program Support
Support Fuel Procurement and Corporate Development in evaluating sourcing opportunities and supplier proposals

Assist in preparing commercial and technical summaries for partnership or offtake evaluations Collect and analyze supplier data to inform business cases and risk assessments Help coordinate pilot projects for testing or expanding the use of new fuel types onboard
Performance Analysis and Communication
Develop summary visuals presentations and dashboards for leadership highlighting fuel adoption progress abatement impacts and compliance readiness

Analyze correlations between fuel type cost and carbon performance to inform decision-making Translate complex data into clear insights for executive-level briefings and internal reports
Research and Intelligence Gathering
Monitor global policy developments affecting low-carbon fuels and maritime decarbonization (eg EU ETS FuelEU Maritime IMO GFI LCFS)

Summarize findings and regulatory updates into concise briefs and recommendations for the Senior Manager and leadership Track advances in certification infrastructure and conversion technologies relevant to the cruise sector

Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Environmental Science
- Energy Economics Business or Sustainability (Master’s preferred) 1–3 years of experience in energy sustainability maritime consulting or fuel supply chain roles Demonstrated proficiency with Excel (pivot tables lookups modeling) and experience with Power BI Tableau or similar analytics tools Strong data management visualization and reporting skills Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to summarize technical and financial data for non-technical audiences Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting LCFS / CI values and biofuel certification schemes (ISCC RSB) preferred Highly organized analytical and self-motivated with a strong passion for sustainability and energy transition
