VP, Marketing & Carrier Relations - Transportation
General Summary:
This role requires strong leadership and a deep expertise with transportation insurance markets and carrier economics. This person will drive growth by shaping carrier strategies, optimizing partnerships, and leading a high-performance marketing team. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills are imperative to the success of this role.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and lead the transportation vertical marketing strategy for carrier partnerships ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Build, strengthen and manage relationships with insurance carriers and wholesalers including securing and negotiating contracts and analyzing performance.
- Negotiate and secure favorable financial terms (commissions, incentives) while ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are met.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, providing competitive insights to inform strategy.
- Partner collaboratively with producers and internal teams to maximize carrier relationships and enhance client and prospect solutions.
- Hire, train and supervise all levels of marketing team associates providing knowledge and resources to ensure success.
- Contribute to company’s overall growth initiatives and cross-functional strategic planning.
Position Requirements:
- 10+ years progressive experience with carrier relations/marketing specifically relating to transportation insurance.
- Proven success collaborating with producers and managing large complex transportation prospects and clients.
- Successful track record of building and leading high-performance teams.
- Exceptional communication skills including experience negotiating complex carrier contracts and securing financial terms.
- Familiarity with E&O compliance as it relates to specific transportation insurance coverages, carrier relations and potential issues.
- TRIP ,TRS, or other related transportation certifications highly preferred.
- Experience with Applied Epic agency management system a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with carriers, clients and industry partners.
