SUMMARY
This position reports to the Manager of Advanced Development & Technology and is responsible for investigating and supporting the development of new applications, materials, and technologies. In addition, this position is responsible for cultivating a strong relationship with engineering teams at key customers and strategically matching customer needs with solutions provided by current and potentially new manufacturing core competencies offered by CLC. As an Applications Engineer, the role focuses on delivering concepts for new and existing applications and enhancing product features based on customer feedback, design for manufacturability and industry trends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product / Applications Engineer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks;
- Collaborate with the product development team to design and develop new applications or improve existing products based on customer feedback and market needs.
- Design and provide modeled concepts to engineering teams, provide DFM feedback addressing part, tooling and tolerancing criteria.
- Participate in the testing and validation of new products, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that customer requirements are translated into technical specifications.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customers, addressing their inquiries and concerns about product applications.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations, highlighting the features and benefits of the CLC’s solutions.
- Gather customer feedback and insights to identify opportunities for product improvements or new application areas.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process, including answering technical questions and assisting with the preparation of proposals.
- Support the sales team in identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate products or solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor products to ensure the company’s applications remain competitive.
- Provide feedback to the product development team on potential improvements or new features based on customer needs and industry trends.
- Participate in continuous learning opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
· Must have plastics design experience, specifically injection molding.
· Must be proficient in at least one CAD system for both 2D & 3D modeling.
· Must demonstrate proficiency using GD&T and understands general plastics tolerancing.
· Must have knowledge of injection molded part design, including standard tooling and processing basics.
· Must be able to work in both individual and team environments.
· Must be self-motivated and goal driven…proactive and works for results.
· Ability to work in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
· Must have a positive attitude and hard work ethic.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Experience:
- Automotive engineering: 2 years (Preferred)
- Plastics injection molding: 5 years (Preferred)
