Position Description
An alternative investment platform is seeking an Analyst to join its team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in onboarding newly originated investments in coordination with underwriting teams.
- Perform monthly valuations of illiquid securities and periodically present findings to internal valuation leadership.
- Conduct independent valuation analyses incorporating financial statements, transaction terms, market data, and broader investment considerations.
- Build and maintain financial models to track issuer and portfolio performance.
- Support preparation of quarterly portfolio review materials and occasionally present to senior investment staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams—investment groups, investor relations, business development, technology, portfolio analytics—as well as external valuation firms and auditors.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in financial consulting, investment banking, asset management, public accounting, valuation services, or credit rating analysis.
- Familiarity with debt instruments.
- Experience with debt/equity valuation, three-statement modeling, and financial analysis.
- Strong Excel proficiency.
- Experience with platforms such as Capital IQ or FactSet is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Comfortable operating in a collaborative, fast-paced, and high-expectation environment.
- Demonstrated interest in investing and fundamental company analysis.
