THE WORK
As a Materials & Process Engineer you will keep the laboratory operating efficiently while driving advanced material development and failure analysis initiatives.
Responsibilities Include
- Maintaining equipment calibration, ensuring safety compliance, and leading continuous improvement efforts
- Conducting failure analyses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
- Leveraging X ray computed tomography (CT) to support investigations and process development projects, analyzing data, and delivering clear reports for both technical and non technical audiences
- Researching, designing, and developing metallic, non metallic, and composite materials, and defining specifications, processing routes, assembly methods, design allowable, and quality engineering criteria
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor material processing procedures to ensure they meet program and engineering standards

- Experience with mechanical testing to evaluate material properties under various conditions
- Familiarity with ASTM test methods
- knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and conventional part‑fabrication techniques
- Experience with PTC Creo or other 3D modeling software
- Experience with Volume Graphics software
- Experience with interpreting technical drawings of mechanical and electrical hardware
- Demonstrated discipline in executing multi-functional projects with competing constraints
- NAS-410 NDT Level 1 or higher certification

Ability to work remotely
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
